During the Hong Kong electronics fair, MediaTek released the first information about the two upcoming SoCs namely Mediatek MT8163 and MT8735.
Mediatek MT8163 specifications
Mediatek MT8163 is a quad-core chip based on Cortex A53 architecture. It supports 64bit and is supports Android 5.1 Lollipop at Full HD resolution with 60 Hz or HD at 120 Hz. Devices with this SoC will not support 3G because the processor only supports Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi dual-band wireless radios.
Mediatek MT8735 specifications
Mediatek MT8735 is a quad-core chip based on Cortex A53 architecture. It supports 64bit too but at a higher frequency than the MediaTek MT8163. It also supports LTE radio supporting FDD-LTE, TDD-LTE, WCDMA and CMDA2000 making it compatible with most GSM networks. MediaTek ensures that this chip will be 20 percent faster than the competition and will have consume 10 percent less power. According to previous rumors. the two Mediatek MT8163 and MT8735 should integrate a GPU by AMD but at the moment it is still early to get any sort of confirmation.
