Intel processors from the Coffee Lake Refresh series, which come without an integrated graphics unit, have been under discussion for some weeks now. The models are to be sold with the suffix “KF”. Meanwhile, the rumors seem to confirm even more, because the first models are now listed at a Finnish online retailer.
Accordingly, Intel plans to launch four models. Besides the Core i9-9900KF, the Core i7-9700KF, i5-9600KF and i5-9400F are also mentioned. In addition to the missing iGPU, the multiplier of the processors should also be locked for overclocking. With that, customers would have to be satisfied with the given clock frequencies from Intel.
With the clock frequencies Intel is to make however opposite the normal models with an integrated graphic unit no difference. The dealer calls the core i9-9900KF a basic clock of 3.6 GHz and 5.0 GHz in boost mode are possible.
The i7-9700KF is expected to work at 3.6 and 4.9 GHz, respectively, and the i5-9600KF has a base clock of 3.7 GHz, while 4.7 GHz should be achieved in boost mode. For the fourth model i5-9400F, the data speak of 2.9 GHz base clock and 4.2 GHz in Turbo Boost. Why Intel omits the “K” in the designation with this model remains, however, currently unknown.
